Who we are looking for

A SQL Developer who will build and maintain SQL Server systems that underpin the Management Information Systems department, driving business critical reporting systems.

You will work with a major SQL Server installation in a team of the most highly skilled developers. The team is responsible for the continuing development of the department’s most critical and complex systems, and sets the bar for quality and reliability.

You will work with databases containing billions of rows of data and have the ability to understand the complexity, meaning and scale, to work out how best to extract and transform it as efficiently as possible.

This is a fast paced environment with unique requirements and endless challenges and opportunities. We hire people with a high level of SQL Server knowledge who can push the boundaries of what SQL is capable of, always striving for faster, simpler and more robust solutions.

Preferred skills and experience

Extensive commercial database development experience, preferably with SQL 2012 or later.
Excellent T-SQL skills with query design, optimisation and SQL Internals.
Proficient at SSIS, SSRS and SQL Agent.
Ability to break down complex requirements into simple solutions.
Extremely methodical with a strong attention to detail.
Ability to work to deadlines in a continually changing, reactive environment.
Knowledge of SQL Server performance monitoring and query tuning.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience working with large and complex datasets is desirable.
Commercial experience with Graphing databases, Postgres, GIT and JIRA is desirable.

Main Responsibilities

Developing SQL Server solutions which process, aggregate and reconcile huge amounts of data into highly optimised solutions.
Assisting in the continuous improvement, maintenance and housekeeping of databases and existing solutions.
Developing business solutions using T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS, and SQL Agent.
Building and maintaining Gaming promotion outputs.
Working alongside other team members on multi developer projects.
Conducting QA to ensure code is both accurate and performant.
Suggesting and implementing improvements to streamline existing processes.
Developing solutions in line with departmental standards.
