I work in the Production Database Team where my role is to manage and coordinate all database software releases that we receive from the many development teams, ensuring that such code meets bet365 standards and also performs efficiently. In addition, I work with the project management teams to help plan and resource the delivery of larger projects to meet their timescales. What surprised me most about my role is how busy it is. I am never bored because of the volume of new code being released. The Company has very high expectations about what it requires your role to deliver but at the same time it gives you the means to deliver those expectations. The overall level of expertise within the IT department is very high indeed, far higher than anywhere else I have worked in a long career.

I started working at bet365 in 2010 as a part-time Telebet Advisor whilst I was at University. As soon as I sat through the presentation in my introduction I knew that I really wanted to work here. The opportunities to progress really appealed to me. In May 2011 I moved to Customer Services and from there I continued to progress from Team Leader to Supervisor and Manager. I am now a Senior Customer Contact Analysis Manager. Throughout my career I have been able to develop my skills through training courses, development plans and progress meetings as well as working alongside experienced colleagues and learning from them. My role continuously challenges me and every day flies by. I truly enjoy trying to improve the customer experience on the website and when contacting us, as well as developing my team so they too can help serve our customers better.

Projects vary from regulatory changes to new domains and languages, so it's always different! I was surprised at how varied my role really is. I knew that bet365 is always wanting to expand and be innovative but I truly didn't realise how much goes on behind the scenes with such ideas and changes until I started in this role.
