Who we are looking for

A Team Leader in the MIS Regulatory Test function, that will be responsible for leading a team of Software Testers, motivating and driving delivery of quality systems and applications.

We are required by International regulators to write software and reporting systems to communicate jurisdiction specific information to them. These requirements range from multi-millions of submissions per day to full year analytics reporting.

Our long-term strategy is to gain licenses through the world’s regulated markets as they are made available and the MIS teams’ output is key to that strategy.

The software used includes high throughput database centric distributed applications, batch reporting, SOAP/REST API integration, windows and web services, web applications, SSRS and more. Given the importance of the system payloads these applications must be tuned for performance, extremely reliable and very high quality.

You will have line management responsibility for a team of Software Testers, you will also be responsible for the allocation, management and delivery of the team’s work items in line with project deliverables and support requests.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Experience of testing in house SQL based systems, applications and API’s along with third party solutions.
Strong understanding of the principles of testing.
Excellent communication skills.
Proven experience in implementing processes and best practices in relation to software testing.
Experience in using, recommending and implementing testing tools such as qTest.
Hands on testing background with the ability to mentor and coach other members of the team.
Ability to adept at prioritisation, delivery and driving efficiency in a high throughput environment.
Highly organised and adaptable, capable of managing multiple substantial and high profile work streams simultaneously.
Ability to respond positively and rapidly to changing requirements and priorities.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams so that they work harmoniously and effectively.
Experience of software development within a support environment, especially large database software, is desirable.

Main Responsibilities

Ensuring the highest level of governance is carried out on all work.
Prioritising, triaging, assigning and tracking of work items.
Assisting management with identifying and implementing improvements to work practices, processes and deliverables in order to produce and support the very best quality working software.
Ensuring that logical requirements are fully understood and realised, and that the testing of the solutions are performant and robust.
Implementing appropriate appraising, mentoring, coaching and development of the team as best meets their needs.
Working with the function’s Product Analyst, Team Leads and other teams to foster collaboration and consistency across the function.
Encouraging a collaborative, respectful and supportive spirit so that team members earn and reciprocate trust, value and cohesion.
Engaging in one-to-ones and team meetings as required.
Conducting regular meetings with management to apprise of ongoing work including escalations when required.
