Who we are looking for

An Infrastructure Automation Engineer, who will assist in the design, support and maintenance of Infrastructure as Code automation and configuration management systems.

The Infrastructure Automation function provides technical expertise for the design, implementation and ongoing maintenance of the automation codebase.

Our configuration management systems include appropriate source control and orchestration tools, including applications that fit within the Infrastructure Automation team’s accountability.

You will collaborate with cross platform engineering teams to build process driven automation across complex infrastructure systems at scale.

As an experienced engineer, you will have a breadth and depth of skills and experience, enabling you to support the direction and growth of the team at all levels.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Effective time management, organisation and work prioritisation skills to meet deadlines, with the ability to maintain excellent attention to detail.
Logical approach to solving problems under pressure and an active communicator on technical issues.
Working knowledge of infrastructure technologies, including Public and Hybrid Cloud.
Exposure to automation and tooling platforms such as Ansible, Jenkins and GIT.
Strong working knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, Dev Op’s tools, concepts and practices.
Experience with scripting languages such as Ansible, Python, Bash, PowerShell and Groovy.
Ability to articulate and provide quality documentation and process design artefacts.
Good working knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems.

Main Responsibilities

Supporting and maintaining the technology stack used in our infrastructure automation platforms.
Reviewing manual processes and design automation incorporating technology standards, re-engineering and delivering greater efficiency.
Following best practices to ensure automated components are designed and implemented to a high standard.
Identifying and documenting automation solutions to replace and improve on existing processes.
Troubleshooting and supporting orchestration workflows and layers.
Conforming to security requirements, version control and Infrastructure SDLC processes.
Applying active governance around overall design, quality, and technical standards.
Identifying technology advancements, including evaluating emerging technologies.
Promoting the Infrastructure teams and standards by developing relationships with other team members and senior stakeholders within the Business.
