Trip's Story

Can you introduce yourself and tell us about your career journey so far?

I'm Trip Stoddard, Head of Business Development - Americas, based in our Denver office. I've loved iGaming and Sports Betting my entire life. I always wanted to be a professional athlete, without having any athletic skill to match the ambition. I've worked for a few other tech companies; however, it's here at bet365 where I've found my home with my main goal to help us gain US Market Share.

One of the reasons I was brought in, and why my role exists, is to try to help us localise the app. Someone who can focus on American sports and knows how Americans typically bet.

What's the purpose of your role? What are your responsibilities?

I started as VP, Sportsbook Experience, and have now moved to Head of Business Development - Americas. I look after Research, Business Development, Government Affairs, Tribal Relations, and Growth and Revenue.

Can you describe the culture at bet365?

While part of our culture is about focusing and getting the work done, the aspect I love the most is the autonomy. If something needs doing, you can go ahead and do it. You need to ensure you gain group buy-in, of course, but we hire people who don't need to be told exactly what to do. Our culture is about identifying what needs to be fixed, and if you take the initiative to address it, you'll receive the support you need along the way.

What does it mean to work for bet365?

It means being part of something bigger than yourself. For me, it means working as hard as possible to recreate the success we've had in other regions right here in the US.

Being part of bet365 means being immersed in a supportive and energetic environment where collaboration is key. I have the chance to work alongside talented individuals from all over the world, and it has enriched my understanding of global markets and inspired me to think creatively about how we can better serve our customers and connect with a diverse audience.

What does working at bet365 mean to you in terms of our priorities?

I believe our priority is to be number one everywhere we operate.

How does the culture here instil or drive your passion?

It's impossible to not look at who came before me and everything that we've accomplished so far and not feel compelled to do my very best to continue to match the success this company is known for.
