Who we are looking for
A Build and Release Technial lead who will support the development function and deal with the compilation and delivery of bespoke applications from SCM through to release into Production.

The Build and Release team are responsible for the delivery of in house code to the various systems and leading technologies that make up our website. The team is heavily involved in technical functions key to the running of our website.

You will have the experience and skills required to play a part in leading technical direction and improvements in line with the business goals enabling the creation of efficient, scalable, enterprise class solutions. You will be able to lead the technical solutions within the release and automation realm and understand industry best products/framework to enable success.

You will be joining a team of smart and enthusiastic technologists who have a desire to learn and thrive on a challenge with the opportunity to help us continue to move forward and lead the way in this exciting industry.
Preferred skills and experience
Advanced administration of Jenkins Pipeline and architecture.
Experience with CI/CD deployments.
Good knowledge of scripting languages, i.e. PowerShell, Shell, Python.
Strong database experience.
Understanding of Artifactory, ELK, GIT and JIRA.
Web and application server administration i.e. Nginx, IIS, Tomcat.

Main Responsibilities
Ensuring that you have an excellent understanding of the technical structure, domain and architecture of the software release systems and how those systems are configured in the development and production estate.
Applying active governance around overall solution implementation, code quality and coding standards within the team.
Ensuring the solutions are scalable and are able to deliver huge volumes of release that come through the teams.
Working with Architects, Development Managers and other colleagues in order to design and deliver technology solutions that solve business problems in line with the technical strategy of the department.
Driving the provision of scalable, maintainable, and performant systems.
Taking responsibility alongside the Team Lead for work estimation within the team, producing solution documents and estimates as required.
Mentoring members of the team and ensuring distribution of knowledge.
Contributing in a “hands on” capacity when required to help deliver complex aspects of the platform.
