Who we are looking for
A Software Development Technical Lead with a passion for technical ownership who will be finding innovative solutions to many challenges on both new and existing trading applications.

Within the Sports Back Office team, you will work closely with Product Managers and other Technical Leads across the business to define the back office technical solutions for our trading applications. These tools are used by our team of Traders to create and configure fixtures and markets allowing customers to place bets prior to and during games.

With a trading platform fronted primarily with Microsoft technologies such as the .NET framework VB, C#, WinForms, WPF and a SQL server backend, we are looking to enhance it further by embracing technologies such as Go, Kafka and Linux.

The day to day work is interesting, challenging and fast paced amidst a hardworking and delivery focused company ethos. We hire people with a broad set of technical skills who are ready to tackle some of technology’s greatest challenges.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.
Preferred skills and experience
In depth Commercial C#, VB and .NET experience.
Commercial MS, SQL Server experience (2012 or later).
Experience with service based distributed systems.
Excellent communication skills; both verbal and written
Delivery orientated in a fast paced environment.
Solid understanding of Windows applications.
Previous experience of solution definition and ownership of delivery.
Mentoring and supporting developers and maintaining Quality Assurance.
Experience with Jira issue management, Git version control.
Experience with Go or Kafka is desirable.

Main Responsibilities
Supporting product owners by creating effective technical solutions for their requirements.
Working with Solution Architects to ensure solutions follow business principles and best practice, adopting new technology as appropriate.
Applying active governance around overall solution design, code performance and quality standards with the team.
Having an in depth knowledge of the technical structure and underlying architecture that the tools and services are built and deployed on.
Having an in depth knowledge of the table and data structures and how these are used across the business to provide fixture and odds information to Traders and the site.
Reviewing the teams output and performance and feeding this back to the Team Leader.
Providing functional and technical support and guidance to the development team
Enhancing and supporting existing trading functions, some of which are used 24/7.
Taking ownership and responsibility for work estimation, creation of solution documents and ROMs, and ultimately quality deliverables to the business.
