Who we are looking for

A Management Information Systems Deputy Manager who will be responsible for overseeing and developing the smooth operation of the MIS function.

With the continuing growth and diversity of the gambling industry comes the challenge of providing reporting systems to communicate Business information back to internal stakeholders and external bodies.

Our long term strategy is to gain licences throughout the world’s regulated markets as they are made available and these teams' output is key to informing the Business how markets are performing.

The software used includes high throughput database centric processing, batch reporting, SSRS and more. Given the importance of the system payloads these processes must be tuned for performance, be extremely reliable and of a very high quality.

You will have line management responsibility of this technical function with full responsibility for the teams’ output, their development and meeting the Business’s regulatory objectives.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Experience of leading technical software engineering teams, ideally with a focus towards building high performance and high volume database centric distributed systems.
Knowledge and experience implementing software development methodologies and techniques such as Waterfall and Agile including Kanban, Scrum, XP, LEAN and Crystal.
Previous experience of commercial RDBMS, but not limited to, SQL server.
Ability to understand particularly complex Business models and adapt these to third party models.
Experience implementing appropriate processes, procedures, documentation and software engineering practices to realise early delivery of high quality working software.
Demonstrable ability to spot great talent placing equal weight on both the technical skill aptitude and the character of new hires.
Proven experience of motivating skilled teams, fostering a strong team spirit encapsulating values of respect, collaboration and a desire to produce the very best software.
Preferably experience of working within a regulatory framework and an appreciation of the significance and sensitivities this involves.
Ability to work under pressure, at a fast pace, under changing conditions and priorities, and to tight deadlines.

Main Responsibilities

Leading and managing technical high profile teams.
Ensuring that the highest levels of governance and quality are achieved using industry standard techniques and processes.
Delivering green field projects and functional changes on time according to externally set timelines.
Ongoing maintenance of a varied and growing technical estate.
Taking responsibility of stakeholder management including compliance, accounts, tax, change, InfoSec, infrastructure, software development, project management, 3rd parties and senior management.
Ensuring specific documentation is produced as necessary for the smooth running of the function.
Understanding all planned and in-flight projects to a competent technical level in order to provide detailed, regular progress updates to senior management.
Promoting an ongoing programme of continual improvement and platform refreshes.
Recruiting and taking ownership for the professional development of technical staff.
