Who we are looking for

An Infrastructure Engineer who will work within a key technical function, responsible for providing hardware break fix support, liaising with 3rd party hardware vendors and providing hardware component replacements.

The Data Centre Services team are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to work within the break fix function.

You will join a team responsible for maintenance and break fix support for all server assets across a global server estate. The role encompasses a number of different elements, ensuring that you will gain a broad knowledge of the server hardware and operating systems that underpin the business.


The day to day work is interesting, challenging and fast paced amidst a hardworking and delivery focused company ethos. We are looking for someone with a broad set of technical skills who is ready to tackle some of technologies greatest challenges.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Strong understanding of server hardware and components, ideally having worked in a similar role previously, providing remote support and onsite component replacement.
Experience of hardware manufacturer management tools for example HPe, Oneview and Dell Openmange.
Working knowledge of Linux, RHEL or Centos and MS Windows operating systems.
Ability to communicate issues in a clear and concise manner.
Effective time management, organisation and prioritisation to meet deadlines.
Ability to create documentation to a high standard for use within the team.
Scripting skills in Python or PowerShell would be preferable but not essential.
Ability to manage workloads as work demands change.

Main Responsibilities

Providing hardware break fix support to the global server estate.
Assisting with firmware and driver deployments to all servers globally using manufactures toolsets.
Troubleshooting complex hardware problems to identify root cause.
Liaising with 3rd party hardware vendors.
Producing compliance and trend reporting and providing analysis.
Assessing firmware and driver security advisories and bug fix threats.
Identifying scope of exposure across the hardware estate.
Recognising areas of improvement and actively work to resolve them.
Creating and maintaining documentation of new and existing processes and procedures.
