Who we are looking for

A Senior Network Engineer, who will be involved in the design and implementation of all network related projects for the Business.

You will be leading and delivering project related work with minimal input from the team, technical leads and managers. You will adhere to the network delivery lifecycle to produce high quality technical designs such as high-level designs (HLD) and low-level designs (LLD) and present these back to the team and senior management.

You will be driven to continually identify opportunities which will optimise and improve the performance availability and security of the network. Your interpersonal skills and attitude will enable you to effectively interact with multiple different teams and Business functions.

This role is eligible for inclusion in the Company’s hybrid working from home policy.

Preferred skills and experience

Experience with modern data centre technologies including virtual extensible local area network and Ethernet virtual private network underlay fabric.
Experience in setting up and troubleshooting routing protocols including Border gateway protocol, Open shortest path first and Interior gateway protocols.
Knowledge and understanding of software defined access and software defined networking.
Installation and configuration experience of multiple firewall vendors such as Check Point, Palo Alto, and Fortigate.
Exposure and troubleshooting experience of dynamic multipoint virtual private networks.
Experience working with Cisco Firewalls such as IP security and remote access virtual private networks.
Proven ability to design complex enterprise-class multi vendor solutions.
Produce appropriate documentation to convey solution design which includes but is not limited to HLD’s, LLD’s and technical design documentation.
Comfortable building proposals, presenting findings and promoting the Network and Security department by developing relationships with peers, wider team members and senior stakeholders in the Business.
Understands the need for and follows information security policies, and Business processes, such as incident management and change and configuration management.

Main Responsibilities

Translating high level Business requirements into an appropriate technology solution.
Working with architects, team leads and managers to determine governance and appropriate frameworks for technology managed by the Networks and Security department.
Producing technical documentation and providing project updates back to team leads, managers and the wider Business.
Reviewing technical designs, standards and process documentation for network components and services.
Providing third line support for the existing global network infrastructure.
Developing solutions directly, working with architects and engineers alike to ensure that proposed solutions are in line with and satisfy strategic requirements.
Providing technical oversight of multiple complex solutions whether they be internally driven or mandated by the Business.
Supporting engineers to develop their understanding and knowledge through coaching and collaboration ensuring viewpoints and opinions are considered.
Leading on proof of concepts, new vendors and technologies whilst liaising with third parties and defining success criteria.
